DL Davis Construction, founded in 1994 by President Dean L. Davis, is the preferred coastal custom home builder for Northeast Florida. Dean has over 26 years of experience with the unique challenges of coastal construction. Starting his career as a framing contractor then superintendent for a builder before starting DL Davis Construction, Dean has the rare practical experience to know how to build from the ground up whether it's a small remodel, a big renovation, or brand new construction.
As a Jacksonville native, an avid surfer, and father of three, Dean believes that environmentally responsible, sustainable building is critical to the quality and performance of coastal homes as well as to the future of the Beaches area. Dean was one of the first custom home builders on the First Coast to utilize and promote the highly energy-efficient and sustainable ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) method of construction.
As an industry leader in the use of Insulated Concrete Form construction, Dean primarily uses IntegraSpec, the most technologically advanced ICF system available for the homes he builds and renovates. The LEED/Green friendly IntegraSpec system is ideal in a hurricane-prone coastal area for its high wind-speed resistance as well as its outstanding thermal insulating performance.
Along with being a certified ICF builder, Dean is a strong advocate for building practices that promote energy-efficiency and sustainability such as the use of spray foam insulation and James Hardie products.
